Scholarship Description:
The Paul Calocino Scholarship is designed to recognize and reward an outstanding high school senior who has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership skills, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their community. This scholarship is a testament to our belief in the potential of young minds and our commitment to fostering future leaders.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the Paul Calocino Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- High School Enrollment: Applicants must be currently enrolled as a senior in a high school in New Jersey.
- Family Member Participation: Applicants must be a family member of a current member in good standing of the Northeast Chapter 2 Volleyball Association. A family member is defined as a child, step child, adopted child, or grandchild.
- Academic Achievement: Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Community Involvement: Applicants must demonstrate community involvement and leadership through volunteer activities.
Application Requirements:
To apply for this scholarship, eligible students must submit the following documents:
- Completed Application Form: Fill out the scholarship application google form, including personal information and a brief personal statement (max 500 words) discussing their future aspirations and how they plan to make a positive impact in their community.
- Transcript: Provide an official (may be a copy) high school transcript showing your academic performance.
- College Acceptance: Provide proof of acceptance into any accredited institution of post secondary learning
- Letter of Recommendation: Submit a letter of recommendation from a coach, teacher, or community leader who can attest to your character.
Selection Process:
A scholarship selection committee will review all applications and select the scholarship recipient based on the following criteria:
- Academic Achievement
- Community Involvement and Leadership
- Personal Statement
- Letter of Recommendation
How to Apply:
Applicants should submit their application materials by April 1 of each academic year. Applications will only be honored through the attached Google Form. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Notification:
The scholarship recipient will be notified by May 15 each academic year. The scholarship award will be sent directly to the recipient's home address, to be used for tuition and other educational expenses.
